Well known hobo Travelin Jack Steinway died last night in Arizona. He was 76.


Although not traditionally the glitziest profession, Jack was truly one of the leading lights of vagrancy throughout his long career. Perhaps he is best known for his unusual choice of instrument. Whilst many favour the harmonica or occasionally the guitar, Jack was known to travel most of his life with an elegant Grand Piano on his back, which at times led to much playful ribbing on the part of his contemporaries.

Blackpool Nightlife

The night is alive in Blackpool, one of the best clubbing venues in the north as well as a favorite destination for fans of live music and live theatre performances. The club scene is electric in Blackpool, with the resort town offering hot dance music, pop and old school tunes as well as R’n'B every night of the week.

The drinks may be a tad expensive, but the spaciousness and elegance of the venue as well as the quality of the dance music make it worthwhile.

Pure Moods: Playing New Age Piano

Mood music has been popular for a very long time. Way, way before New Age music was established, we’ve had compositions like “The Planets” by Gustav Holst, “Water Music” by Handel, and “Snowflakes are Dancing” by Claude Debussy.


Of course, it wasn’t called “mood music’ back then, but people loved the idea of listening to something titled “Grand Canyon Suite” and being led by the music through what the composer experienced. Pieces like “On the Trail” and “Painted Desert” led the listener through the composer’s imagination and allowed for a journey into sound.
